Norwegian horn player Karl Kramer is a much sought-after chamber musician, recitalist and clinician.  Currently serving on the faculties of the International Festival Institute at Round Top, Texas, and at Siena Summer Music in Siena, Italy,  Mr. Kramer performs frequently in New York City and across the continent as a member of Jupiter Symphony Chamber Players and the Dorian Wind Quintet. Mr. Kramer is a two-time prize-winner in the American Horn Competition – other prizes and awards include the Nordic Horn Competition (Finland), the American-Scandinavian Society cultural award, and a working grant from Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance. In addition to performing and mentoring emerging horn players, Mr. Kramer is also active as a conductor  – especially in the fields of opera and new music – as well as an active composer with a growing work-list, several commissions, and a three-year residency with the Manhattan chamber music series Concerts in the Heights.  Mr. Kramer can be heard on several major motion picture soundtracks and was recently singled out by The New York Times in their concert review: “…a prominent, perilously chromatic horn line, which Karl Kramer played beautifully…”
