Jojo Yan is currently pursuing a Master of Music degree in Classical Piano Performance at the Manhattan School of Music. A recipient of the Rita Y and Herbert Z Gold Endowed Scholarship, Ms. Yan studies with Dr. Solomon Mikowsky. Additionally, she is studying instrumental accompanying under the guidance of Dr. Heasook Rhee and accompanying instrumentalists for lessons, masterclasses, competitions, and recitals. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music under the guidance of Dr. Stewart Gordon.

Ms. Yan was born in Shenzhen, China. She was exposed to classical music at an early age and started taking piano lessons at the age of six. After Ms. Yan's family immigrated to California in 2008, she continued studying piano privately and engaged in professional performance experiences. She had her debut piano performance at the Carnegie Weill Recital Hall as the Gold Medal Winner of the American Association for Development of the Gifted and Talented Competition as well as touring extensively in Finland, Estonia, and Russia with the Junior Chamber Music program in 2014. She was selected to participate in the Gijon International Piano Festival in the summer of 2018 and she performed at the "Homage Concert to Jesus Gonzalez Alonso" in the famous Teatro Jovellanos in Gijon, Spain. In the summer of 2019, she was referred and selected as one of the five staff pianists accompanying for the 50th-year edition of the Castleman Quartet Program in Fredonia, New York. Along with her partners, she received coachings from esteemed artists such as Charles Castleman, Tom Landschoot, Kyoko Hashimoto, John Gilbert, among others and performed in masterclasses and recitals.
