Violinist Yevgenia Strenger, was born in Lviv, Ukraine, and at the age of 13 made her debut performing Konus Concerto with the Lviv Symphony. Upon graduating with honors from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, she toured the former Soviet Union as a soloist and as a member of Kalinin String Quartet. Soon after her arrival in the U.S. in 1979, she joined the New York City Opera and in 1984 became an associate concertmaster and the concertmaster in 2001. For many years, Ms. Strenger played and toured the world with the New York Philharmonic. Her love of chamber music brought her numerous appearances on television, radio, recitals and chamber music concerts. Yevgenia Strenger has performed Alla Borzova’s Images Françaises with the composer on the piano numerous times. She recorded the piece with Ms. Borzova for Albany Records CD ‘Pinsk & Blue”.
