RECENTLY CONCLUDED CONCERT SEASON (2012-2013):
The Musicians Club of New York's 2012-2013 concert season can be summed up in a number of ways: increased paid Membership (58 new or renewed Members), increased number of and average dollar amount of private donations, and a full house at all but the first concert, which was on the Sunday evening before Hurricane Sandy struck. (We still got a cozy group of hearty souls, including a couple from Long Island!).*

*The Musicians Club of New York's longstanding tradition of free and open-to-the-public concerts is at the fore of the Club's contribution to the musical life of New York. Concerts are approximately one hour in duration, followed by a coffee/tea meet and greet. Musicians Club Members may RSVP at any time, but the general public is welcome to RSVP beginning one week before the concert date by emailing their request to rsvp@musiciansclubofny.org*.
Is a slight edge on reserving seats enough to make you want to become a Member? After all, the concerts are free to all... Musicians Club of New York Members believe that high-level music is good for themselves and their loved ones, and for society as a whole. There is a growing body of research that associates exposure to music with brain development, productivity and well-being - and they are putting some of their time and treasure to support the Musicians Club of New York's activities. Of course, professional musicians can deduct their club dues, but so can amateurs: because concerts are free, dues, as well as donations, are fully tax deductible. (The Musicians Club of New York is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.) In addition, Members vote on Board of Directors and have their say at the annual Member's meeting before the first concert. They may also become involved in committee work.
The Musicians Club of New York makes a difference in the lives of many artists - and they, in turn, make a difference in our lives and the lives of society. To inquire about joining, see the "Contact Us" information on the Home page or click "CONTACT US" the top menu. Or just come to a concert!
