"The purposes of the Corporation shall be exclusively charitable and cultural purposes and, more particularly, to promote a high standard of musical art in all of its branches by assisting and promoting concert appearances of young musicians; assisting in bringing before the public works of contemporary composers whose works might otherwise not receive performance; the awarding of prizes for and otherwise recognizing outstanding musical compositions and performances; and by such other means and methods as may be appropriate to carry out the foregoing purposes, all without discrimination because of race, color or creed."

The Musicians Club is a non-profit organization with 501(c)(3) status that strives to fulfill its mission through free concerts open to the public, competitions for young artists and composers, and special projects on its own and in collaboration with other 501(c)3 organizations. These activities are funded by public and private donations, membership dues and earned revenue from concert services. Contributions to the Musicians Club of New York are fully tax-deductible.
