The Musicians Club of New York is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that promotes high-level music through concerts, competitions and special events. Its Members contribute annual dues according to their means in support of these activities. Additional funding is collected from the Club's end-of-year appeal, its Benefit Gala in May, and through generous donations large and small from individuals, foundations and corporations.
Anyone with a belief in the positive effects of music is welcome to join. Approximately half of the present Membership is made up of professional musicians. The other half is quite diverse, from doctors and lawyers to candlestick makers, but all have benefitted from high-level music in their own lives, and this serves as a common bond. In addition to socializing and networking, some Members help plan and run events. The Board of Directors is made up of some of the most passionate and active Members, and it is always looking for talented and energetic Members to fill its ranks.
